The Vice-Rectorate for International Relations is launching Global Encounters, a series of events aimed at bringing international culture and knowledge closer to the UIC Barcelona university community, while strengthening and promoting internationalisation across both campuses.
The Global Encounters programme will kick off on 28 May at Saló de Grauswith a day dedicated to Romania, organised in collaboration with the Consulate General of Romania and the Romanian Cultural Institute in Madrid. The event will be open to the entire university community, as well as to external guests via institutional channels.
The session will begin at 11.00 a.m. with a welcome by the rector of UIC Barcelona, Alfonso Méndiz, and the Consul General of Romania, Sandra Gătejeanu-Gheorghe. This will be followed by various presentations and cultural activities:
11.15 a.m. - Eco-regional architecture - respect for tradition and innovation in Romania.
Lecture by architect Miklos Kollo, an expert in historical urban planning and built heritage, who will share his vision on traditional and sustainable architecture.
12.15 p.m. - Romania – A Journey Through Time (History and Culture)
Intervention on Romanian culture by Maria Pop, director of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Madrid, and Consul General of Romania, Sandra Gătejeanu-Gheorghe.
At the same time, an invaluable cultural exhibition can also be visited.
